My second visit to Brown's this season. On this occasion the 'near' bank was quite busy and so I drove round to the opposite side of the water and fished opposite an island. It was quiet on this side and there was some nice shading to keep me cool.

My intention today was to try a bit of feeder fishin (just because) using a method feeder and the Ringer's Chocolate Orange Wafters (6mm and 10mm). I had not tried Wafters before but had purchased some at the start of the year and was interested to see how they would perform.

I used soaked 1mm pellets on the feeder, starting with a 10mm Wafter on a 4" link to a Guru QM1 Size 16 bayonet rig.
First cast out towards the island and the rod tip went round almost instantly, resulting in the small carp shown below.

It was almost a fish a cast on the feeder. Despite this success I guess that this would not be a method to use in a match on this water as it is quite a slow process (for me) and more fish could be caught in the same time using a pole.

After an hour or so I had used up the small tub of 1mm pellets that I had prepared so I decided to switch to the margin pole and fish under the branches just to my left.

I changed the hookbait to an 6mm expander pellet, feeding a nix of hard and expander pellets by hand (I had prepared way to many expanders so decided to use the up as loose feed). Once again fish were easy to catch but at least I managed a few larger fish in the margin.

A pleasant session with plenty of fish, but perhaps just a bit too easy, but nice to fish now and again.

My first visit to Brown's this season.
I selected a peg (not numbered) on the 'near' side of the water in between the two islands.

I fishe with a pole at top kit +3 to start with, feeding 3mm soaked pellets and fishing with 6mm expanders (or an 8mm expander now and then). Feeding was only with a medium sized CAD pot filled each put out.

There were plenty of fish to be caught and fish came to the net regularly, so plenty of opportunities for short breaks and a coffee without loosing the fish.

There were also lots (and lots) of fish visible feeding along the margin at my feet, but it would be a bit unsporting to fish for these fish but it was good fun throwing in a few pellets to see them swirl around.

After 3 hours of regularly catching I felt Ihad caught enough so called it a day. Nothing of any real size but nice to catch a few fish now and again.
